Araqchi Criticizes Europe’s Silence on US-israel Strikes Targeting Iran’s Nuclear Sites

In a recent phone call on Wednesday, Araqchi and Italy’s Antonio Tajani engaged in discussions concerning regional developments. The conversation focused on the implications for security, legal frameworks, and economic conditions arising from the ongoing US-Israeli military actions against Iran.

The situation in the Strait of Hormuz has been attributed to recent US military actions deemed unlawful and unilateral against a UN member state. In response, Iran, as a coastal nation, has implemented actions consistent with international law to protect its national security from perceived threats and aggression.
Araqchi further asserted that the accountability for the worldwide economic repercussions of the situation rests with those who have instigated the aggression.

He warned that such stances undermine the integrity of international law and the non-proliferation regime, attributing this to Europe’s apparent double standards.
The two senior diplomats engaged in discussions regarding the situation in Lebanon, highlighting the importance of upholding the ceasefire.
The Italian foreign minister emphasized the significance of sustaining peace and stability in the Persian Gulf, expressing Rome’s willingness to contribute to reinforcing regional stability.
