Occupation Gas Fields Halt Operations Amid Iranian Missile Threats
According to reports from Israeli media, activities at two significant gas fields located in the eastern Mediterranean have been halted. This suspension comes amid security apprehensions stemming from potential threats posed by Iranian missiles and drones.

Israeli media has reported that operations at two key gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean have been halted owing to security worries over potential threats from Iranian missiles and drones.
Reports from Israeli media outlets, Yedioth Ahronoth and Channel 12 News, indicate that operations at both the Leviathan and Karish gas fields have been fully halted.
According to reports, the increasing threat posed by Iranian missiles and drones has escalated security risks throughout the region’s airspace, compelling companies to withdraw their personnel and halt drilling and extraction activities.
The Leviathan field, located approximately 130 kilometers west of Haifa, which is currently under Israeli administration, was discovered in 2010. It stands as the largest gas field in the eastern Mediterranean, boasting an estimated 535 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves.
Economic analysts featured in Yedioth Ahronoth have warned that a prolonged shutdown may result in power outages across key Israeli cities, the suspension of energy-intensive industries, and a significant decrease in gas exports to neighboring countries Jordan and Egypt. Meanwhile, the IRGC announced plans to escalate the “scale and depth” of its retaliatory attacks against the United States and Israel, having initiated the 28th wave of the True Promise 4 military operation on Sunday, with intentions to intensify actions against adversary targets in the days ahead.
Jordan, heavily dependent on Israeli gas imports to produce approximately 80 percent of its electricity, may encounter a severe energy crisis should the disruption continue.
On February 28, Israel and the United States initiated renewed military actions directed at the Islamic Republic, marking a new phase of tensions.
Iran’s Armed Forces initiated extensive counterattacks shortly thereafter, focusing on critical and strategic American and Israeli targets throughout the region.
Prominent targets have included critical sites in Tel Aviv, the disputed city of al-Quds, and Be’er Sheva, recognized as a center for technological development within Israel. Additionally, strategic US military assets in the region, such as the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and an American destroyer in the Indian Ocean, have also been highlighted.
