Rallies have commenced this Monday in Tehran, the capital, along with several major cities such as Shiraz, Kerman, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Hamedan, Ardabil, and others.

In Tehran, a demonstration is taking place at Enqelab Square with participants observed waving the Iranian flag and chanting slogans like “Death to the US” and “Death to Israel.” Meanwhile, in Qom, gatherings on March 9, 2026, are pledging allegiance to the newly appointed Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to reports from Press TV, participants convened to express their unwavering loyalty and allegiance to the newly appointed Leader of the Islamic Revolution, pledging their complete support for his leadership.

During a rally in Tehran, a participant expressed their sentiment to Press TV, stating, “We lost our beloved Leader during his stand against the world’s arrogant powers. The loss leaves a profound wound, yet there is comfort in the emergence of his worthy successor, the new Leader, who will carry the mission forward.” Crowds convened at Tehran’s Enqelab Square on March 9, 2026, to affirm their allegiance to Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Participants expressed their support for the nation’s military forces in their robust counteractions against the Israeli regime and US military installations in the region.

Iran has vowed retribution for the blood of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, along with top commanders and civilians, including 165 schoolchildren killed in a southern Iran school attack. Aerial images capture a sea of supporters converging at Tehran’s Enqelab Square, expressing loyalty to the new figurehead of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

In a significant political development, Iran’s Assembly of Experts, comprising 88 high-ranking clerics, has officially elected Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, aged 56, as the new and third Leader of the Islamic Revolution. This announcement was followed by widespread rallies across the county.

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has succeeded his father, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, following the latter’s assassination in Israeli airstrikes targeting his office in Tehran on February 28. This incident marked the beginning of the ongoing US-Israeli military actions against Iran.

After the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei, a provisional three-member leadership council assumed control of the country until a new leader was appointed on Sunday evening.

The United States and Israel have been conducting a military campaign against Iran, reportedly focusing on civilian infrastructure and resulting in the deaths of at least 1,332 individuals.

Iran has launched several rounds of retaliatory missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli-occupied areas and U.S. assets in neighboring countries.
