Iran Primed for Prolonged Conflict Unlike US, Security Chief Asserts

Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, has stated that while Iran was not the instigator of the ongoing conflict, the country stands ready to endure a prolonged battle, contrary to the United States' position.

Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), has stated that while Iran did not instigate the ongoing conflict, it is fully equipped and ready to endure a prolonged engagement, unlike the United States.

Iran has readied itself for a prolonged conflict, in contrast to the United States, as stated by Larijani in a post on the social media platform X on Monday.

In a statement drawing parallels to historical events, Larijani emphasized, “For the past three centuries, Iran has refrained from initiating war, and our valiant armed forces have not conducted any offensive operations, operating strictly in self-defense.”

The Chief of the Security Council has vowed that Iran is prepared to “staunchly protect itself and its civilization, which spans six thousand years, no matter the expense,” assuring that adversaries will “repent their misjudgment.” Furthermore, Iran’s senior security representative stated that there will be no diplomatic talks with the United States, following the initiation of hostilities by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran.

The recent statements come in the wake of a new series of air strikes initiated by the United States and Israel on Saturday, signaling an escalation in tensions just eight months after earlier unprovoked assaults on the Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was assassinated in the initial wave of terrorist attacks, coinciding with Tehran’s ongoing diplomatic discussions with Washington concerning its nuclear program.

Iran swiftly responded by launching a coordinated attack, utilizing barrages of missiles and drones aimed at Israeli-held territories and U.S. military installations throughout the region.
