Failed Assassination Attempt Targeting Iranian Lawmaker Thwarted

According to reports from local Iranian media on Friday, an assassination attempt targeting Abbas Bigdali, the parliamentary representative for Takestan, was thwarted and those responsible have been apprehended.

The prosecutor general of Qazvin Province, home to Takestan, announced that two motorcyclists who allegedly used shotguns to fire at a vehicle carrying Bigdali have been apprehended as the suspects involved in the incident.

He stated that the incident was not classified as a terrorist attack and noted that investigations are ongoing.

An official reported that the Member of Parliament emerged unscathed following an unsuccessful assassination attempt.
