In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the ministry said its anti-narcotics units carried out a series of operations in southern areas, targeting a network involved in drug trafficking and cross-border smuggling.

The operations led to the arrest of several individuals and the seizure of about 2.05 million Captagon pills and 605 packages of hashish weighing an estimated 151 kilograms, the ministry said.

The units also confiscated equipment used in smuggling operations, including helium gas cylinders, balloons, plastic mortar shells, a launcher, a drone and communication devices, according to the statement.

Those detained were referred to judicial authorities for legal action, the ministry added.

The anti-narcotics unit said it would continue operations to combat drug trafficking and dismantle smuggling networks, citing concerns over public security and youth protection.
