Syrian Army moves SDF members from Raqqa to Ain al-Arab in eastern Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army has begun transferring members of the SDF organization from the al-Aqatan prison area in Raqqa province to the town of Ain al-Arab in eastern Aleppo, as part of the January 18 agreement.

The Army’s Operations Command said the move is part of the initial phase of an agreement reached on January 18, under which Syria’s Interior Ministry will assume control of the al-Aqatan prison.
In a statement, the command said army forces are escorting the transfer operation to areas near Ain al-Arab.
On Jan. 18, the Syrian government announced a ceasefire and full integration agreement with the SDF, which includes the handover of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa to the Syrian government and the group’s full integration into state institutions.
