The Syrian Arab Army declares Deir Hafer and Maskanah a closed military zone

The Syrian Arab Army Operations Command declared the areas of Deir Hafer and Maskanah, located on the western Euphrates, a closed military zone following continued mobilization by SDF groups, along with PKK terrorists and remnants of the deposed regime in the area.

The Command stated in a statement that due to the continued mobilization of SDF organization’s groups, along with PKK terrorist militias and remnants of the deposed regime in this area—which has become a launch point for Iranian suicide drones that have targeted the city of Aleppo—”the area marked in red is a closed military zone as of this date.”

The published map included the areas of Deir Hafer, Maskanah, Babiri, and Qawas on the western bank of the Euphrates.

The Army urged civilians to stay away from SDF organization positions in this area, warning that “all armed groups in this area must withdraw to the eastern bank of the Euphrates to safeguard their lives.”

The Command concluded by stressing that it would “take all necessary measures to prevent the armed groups massing in this area from using it as a launch point for their criminal activities.”

In recent days, the Command announced that it had detected mobilization by SDF groups, along with PKK terrorists and remnants of the deposed regime in the area. The Army sent reinforcements to the fronts east of Aleppo.
