Lebanese Foreign Minister Advocates for Renewed Relations with Iran

In a message responding to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s congratulatory note on the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year, Lebanon’s foreign minister underscored the significance of cultivating balanced relations with Iran. The minister highlighted the need for these ties to be rooted in mutual respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence.

In his statement, he emphasized that peace and prosperity are essential for everyone, encompassing Lebanon, Iran, and the whole region.

The Lebanese Foreign Minister has advocated for a fresh chapter in Iran-Lebanon relations, underscoring a commitment to initiate sincere and transparent dialogue aimed at reinforcing mutual trust between the nations.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring that these relations are grounded in a constructive approach and mutual respect between the two nations. Bilateral cooperation, he noted, should strictly involve the respective governments and their legal institutions to safeguard the sovereignty and independence of both countries, ultimately enhancing the welfare of the populations in Iran and Lebanon.
