Yemen Prepares for Impending Conflict, Calls for Muslim Vigilance

The leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement has declared that the nation is actively preparing around the clock for the next unavoidable conflict with the United States and Israel. He affirmed that Yemeni resistance will continue steadfastly and will not be diminished or disbanded.

Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi announced in a televised address on Friday that preparations are underway for the forthcoming phase of conflict. “We are fully aware of current developments, the objectives of our adversaries, and their strategies,” he stated, emphasizing that efforts are being made around the clock to address these challenges.

The statements were made just one day after Israeli military affairs minister, Israel Katz, pledged to persist with military operations against multiple nations, such as Yemen, in response to the Arab nation’s pro-Palestine activities.

Al-Houthi has issued a warning, stating that remaining silent in response to American and Israeli colonial initiatives would only serve to embolden aggression throughout the Muslim and Arab world.

He emphasized the importance of vigilance, attentiveness, and readiness for all individuals.

He stated, “The Americans were unsuccessful in impeding our progress. Despite their arsenal of weapons, aircraft, and air and naval bombardments, they could not prevent our military operations in support of the Palestinian people, whether it involved missile, drone, or naval actions.”

In a recent address, the Ansarullah leader issued a warning about US-Israeli plans to restructure the region, highlighting explicit declarations from Washington and Tel Aviv to “change the Middle East.” He called on Arab and Muslim countries to actively oppose these strategies rather than remain passive.

He stated that discussions surrounding the concept of Greater Israel serve to oppress the populations within the region by a formidable adversary, labeling it as a calamity for the nation to accept such an ideology.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly expressed his commitment to the concept of a “Greater Israel,” encompassing the occupied Palestinian territories along with regions of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, characterizing it as both a “historical and spiritual mission.”

Al-Houthi criticized Western-backed actions by Israel and the United States in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, accusing adversaries of attempting to normalize violence and human rights violations through their regional affiliates.

He emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is a very dangerous issue, implying acceptance of being targeted by Israel at its discretion.”

He stated that amid acts of violence and violations, adversaries seek to normalize a lack of response, aiming to make such occurrences widely accepted.

Al-Houthi expressed regret, stating it is “very unfortunate” that blame continues to be placed on those who oppose the normalization of these crimes, rather than on the actual perpetrators.

He stated that operations targeting American forces persisted until the declaration of a ceasefire agreement and expressed confidence that these efforts would not be thwarted in the future. He further emphasized that their armament is the embodiment of a nation that places its reliance on divine guidance, following a principled, Quranic, faith-based, ethical, and value-oriented approach.

He also dismissed calls for the disarmament of the resistance, arguing that such requests are intended to render the region vulnerable and unprotected.

He stated that the demand to disarm the resistance aims to deprive the nation of any tools to counter American and Israeli aggression. He further noted that the notion of submitting to the US and Israel is misleadingly portrayed as a remedy, while it in reality exacerbates humiliation and exploitation.

Yemen’s position comes after months of escalating tensions sparked by what has been described as Israel’s genocidal conflict in Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have reportedly claimed the lives of over 70,000 Palestinians. This led to a tenuous ceasefire, negotiated by the United States, which was established last October.

In a strategic response, the Yemeni Armed Forces initiated a pro-Palestine campaign in November 2023, directing their efforts at Israeli-affiliated maritime activities and striking locations within the occupied territories. This campaign was launched following the Zionist regime’s offensive in Gaza the previous month.

In a move that has sparked significant international concern, the United States and Israel have conducted multiple airstrikes across Yemen, actions which experts argue are in clear breach of international law and the UN Charter. Further heightening tensions, Washington increased its military presence in the area by deploying aircraft carriers, aiming to deter operations by Yemeni forces.

In May, a ceasefire between Yemen and the United States was successfully brokered by Oman. This development followed a period of intense US-led airstrikes targeting Yemeni cities and ongoing Yemeni retaliatory attacks against American forces stationed in the region.

Yemen has suspended its operations against Israel following the implementation of a ceasefire on October 10. However, Yemeni officials have cautioned that they are prepared to reinstate military assistance for Palestinian groups should the truce be violated.
