Palestinian Fatally Shot, Multiple Injured in Separate ‘israeli’ Raids Across West Bank

A Palestinian teenager has lost their life, and several others sustained injuries in separate incidents when Israeli forces opened fire during raids throughout the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs reported that Israeli soldiers discharged firearms at a Palestinian vehicle at the principal entrance to the town of Azzun, located east of Qalqilyah. This incident resulted in the death of 19-year-old Mo’men Nidal Abu Riyash and left two others injured.

The Authority reported that Israeli occupation forces detained the two injured Palestinians, identified as Bara’ Bilal Issa Qabalan and Mohammad Sa’id Taha Hussein, and transported them to an undisclosed location.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that their medical teams faced obstruction in accessing the site. The organization stated that Israeli forces took custody of the victim’s body and the injured individuals, including one person who was critically wounded.

In related news, Israeli forces have reportedly shot and injured a Palestinian man near the occupied city of al-Quds on Saturday evening. Additionally, reports indicate that two minors were assaulted and injured near Nablus, located in the northern West Bank.

According to reports from Palestinian media, which referenced local sources, Israeli forces conducted a raid in the Beit Hanina neighborhood, north of Jerusalem, where a 39-year-old man was reportedly shot.

According to sources, the Palestinian individual suffered moderate injuries and has been transported to the hospital for medical care.

In Nablus, Israeli soldiers reportedly intercepted two Palestinian teenagers at the Beit Furik military checkpoint and subjected them to a violent assault.

In the West Bank, Palestinians are experiencing escalated Israeli military operations alongside a surge in violence from settlers. This development follows the onset of the devastating conflict in Gaza, which commenced in October 2023 and has resulted in the deaths of over 70,000 individuals in the coastal area.

In the ongoing conflict, over 1,085 Palestinians have lost their lives in the West Bank, with an additional 10,700 individuals sustaining injuries due to assaults by both military forces and Israeli settlers within the occupied region.

More than 20,500 individuals have reportedly been abducted by the forces of the occupying regime.

For several months, human rights organizations have been alerting the international community to the escalating risk of ethnic cleansing confronting Palestinians in the West Bank, as violence continues to unfold in the region.

In July 2024, the International Court of Justice delivered a landmark decision, declaring Israel’s extended occupation of historic Palestine to be unlawful. The court urged the dismantling of all existing settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds.

The International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, while not legally binding, holds considerable political significance as it marks the first occasion the ICJ has assessed the legality of the 57-year occupation.
