US Protesters Nationwide Stage ‘No Kings’ Rallies, Demand ‘No More Trump’

Protesters across the United States have organized nationwide "No Kings" rallies, advocating for unity and expressing disapproval of Trump's conduct, which they critique as resembling that of a monarch.

Millions of demonstrators from diverse sectors of society gathered nationwide on Saturday, chanting “No More Trump!” while waving American flags. The widespread “No Kings” rallies took place in thousands of cities and locations across all fifty states.

At a series of “No Kings” rallies, a unified chorus of voices criticized Trump for what they described as monarchical behavior. The demonstrations attracted a varied crowd, predominantly featuring Democratic politicians, educators, legal professionals, military veterans, and former government employees. Participants also included children, grandparents, students, and retirees.

Critics have expressed significant outrage over several key issues, including immigration raids, the deployment of federal forces into cities, government workforce reductions, and substantial budget cuts. Concerns have been raised over efforts perceived to undermine voting rights, the rollback of vaccine mandates, and the reversal of agreements with tribal nations. Additionally, there is discontent regarding Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which detractors claim disproportionately benefits the ultra-wealthy at the expense of the broader population.

A significant number of demonstrators, many of whom participated in a comparable protest in June, have taken to the streets once again, with the size of the gathering having grown in recent months.

In a speech delivered at the “No Kings” rally in Washington, DC, Senator Bernie Sanders, an Independent from Vermont recognized for his progressive stance, asserted that the US political system has been commandeered by the ultra-wealthy. He claimed these affluent individuals aim to amplify their own wealth to the detriment of working-class citizens.

Sanders declared a strong stance against authoritarianism, emphasizing that the power would remain with the people in America.

Leah Greenberg, co-founder of the US grassroots movement Indivisible, emphasized the quintessential American value of rejecting monarchy and practicing the right to peaceful protest. Greenberg’s comments came as part of her involvement in organizing anti-Trump demonstrations scheduled for Saturday.

Numerous demonstrators expressed a collective sentiment that the Trump administration should exhibit fundamental humanity in both domestic and international matters.

Chris Scharman, a lawyer present at a rally in Salt Lake City, emphasized, “While it is important to discuss and deliberate on policies and solutions to our issues, we must not question the inherent worth of individuals.”

Indivisible co-founder Ezra Levin stated, “Trump and his allies want us to believe resistance is futile, but every individual who attended today demonstrated the contrary.”
