Zionist Occupation Forces Launch Fresh Incursion in Syria’s Quneitra

Zionist forces carried out a fresh incursion into Syria's Quneitra region, targeting southern areas amidst continuing breaches of Syrian sovereignty.

According to local sources in Quneitra, southern Syria, an Israeli military patrol reportedly conducted a fresh incursion towards Sayda al-Hanout, located in the province’s southern countryside.

According to sources, the recent patrol movement represents the latest in a series of reported Israeli violations aimed at Syria’s southern regions following the collapse of the prior government on December 8, 2024.

The Israeli forces have consistently conducted incursions and military operations across the southern border region, escalating their military activities in the proximity of Syrian towns and villages.

Recently, reports emerged from Syrian media detailing a comparable occurrence in the village of Ofaniya, located in northern Quneitra. It was alleged that an Israeli patrol conducted raids on two residences.

According to witnesses, occupation forces have been consistently establishing checkpoints and detaining individuals as they advance through the southern Syrian countryside, escalating tension and fear among the local population.

According to reports from Syrian media on Wednesday, an Israeli patrol allegedly breached the village of Ofaniya located in the northern countryside of Quneitra. The patrol reportedly conducted raids on two civilian residences before pulling back. In a separate maneuver, an Israeli contingent consisting of eight military vehicles, which included a heavy bulldozer and two tanks, advanced towards the town of al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiya. This unit reportedly remained deployed for several hours around Tal Kroom Jaba before eventually retreating.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces established a military checkpoint at the Ofaniya junction near the al-Hurriyah intersection. They conducted vehicle inspections and detained individuals passing by before eventually retreating to al-Hurriyah village.

Since December 8, 2024, Israeli forces have consistently executed ground and aerial operations within Syrian territory, focusing on infrastructure, ammunition depots, and Syrian Army positions. The Syrian government has condemned Israel for its systematic expansion in the occupied Golan Heights and for conducting aggressive military campaigns in Quneitra, Daraa, and the outskirts of Damascus.
