Hamas Accuses Netanyahu of Using UN Speech to Vilify Palestinian Cause
Hamas has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address at the United Nations General Assembly, accusing him of fabricating falsehoods. The group asserts that Netanyahu's claims that Hamas seeks to eradicate Jews are baseless and intended to demonize Palestinians and their ongoing resistance against occupation.

In a statement released on Friday, Hamas refuted assertions made by Netanyahu, which allege that Hamas aims to target Jewish individuals globally. The group characterized these claims as part of Netanyahu’s ongoing efforts to vilify the Palestinian people and their legitimate national resistance.
The Hamas movement, along with other Palestinian resistance factions, has consistently stated that their conflict is directed solely against the occupation of their territories and sacred sites. They have pledged to persist in their efforts until the Palestinian people attain their right to self-determination.
It highlighted the irony of a war criminal, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), being allowed to address the United Nations on issues of justice, humanity, and rights, while simultaneously being accused of routinely violating these very principles in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas has declared that the persistent falsehoods of the 75-year-old head of the Israeli government, along with his outright denial of alleged genocide, forced displacement, and systematic starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, will not change the established facts documented by the United Nations and various international organizations.
The group stated that Netanyahu’s continued reiteration of false narratives about the events of October 7 serves as a retreat following the disintegration of this deceitful campaign in the eyes of global public opinion. They argue that invoking the term ‘anti-Semitism’ has become a worn-out justification for ignoring international criticism regarding the alleged acts of genocide and starvation that have been ongoing for over 23 months.
Hamas criticized Netanyahu’s actions, stating that his public expressions of sorrow for the Israeli captives, along with his unusual act of addressing them via loudspeakers, reflect a colonial mindset.
The statement accuses Trump of singular responsibility for hindering an agreement that would ensure their release, attributing this to continued aggression, a breach of the agreement signed last January, and a botched assassination attempt targeting the negotiating delegation in Qatar, facilitated by the international mediator.
A statement criticized Trump’s actions, suggesting that if he genuinely cared for those in captivity, he would cease the severe bombardment, alleged genocidal acts, and large-scale destruction in Gaza City. The statement accused him of dishonesty and persisting in putting lives at risk.
The resistance movement emphasized that Netanyahu’s rationale for his ongoing offensives in Gaza City, along with his assertions of resistance fighters occupying the targeted structures, serves merely as a facade to obscure the ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated daily against children and unarmed civilians.
In response to Netanyahu’s declaration of intentions to assert control over the Gaza Strip and establish a compliant administration, sources have dismissed the notion as unrealistic. The statement underscored the unyielding resilience of the Palestinian people, who have consistently opposed any form of domination or dependency, affirming that such plans will not be permitted.
Hamas has asserted that the creation of an independent Palestinian state, with al-Quds as its capital, is an inherent and non-negotiable right. The organization emphasized that this right will remain undiminished despite what it describes as the occupier’s crimes and fascist policies.
Netanyahu should face incarceration rather than delivering an address at the United Nations General Assembly, critics argue.
In a recent development, a senior official from Hamas contended that Netanyahu should remain incarcerated rather than being granted the chance to address the international community from the podium at the United Nations General Assembly.
Taher al-Nunu, the media adviser to the head of Hamas’ political bureau, criticized Netanyahu’s speech, highlighting what he described as a display of egotism.
“The disruption of Netanyahu’s address highlights the increasing isolation of the Zionist entity and is a consequence of the ongoing conflict described as a genocide war,” stated Nunu.
He urged for the cessation of hostilities and the sanctioning of Israel, highlighting the expectation for global leaders to adopt a moral and humane approach in addressing the situation.
Nunu emphasized that the establishment of a Palestinian state will proceed through the combined efforts of Palestinian, Arab, and international resolve, irrespective of any objections from Netanyahu.
