Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei Denounces US Dialogue, Citing Potential ‘Serious, Irreparable Harms’
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has dismissed Washington's demands in the ongoing nuclear negotiations. He declared that engaging in discussions under duress is an action that "no honorable nation would ever do, and no wise statesman would ever endorse."

In a televised address to the nation on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that engaging in negotiations with Washington under the present conditions would offer “no benefit” to Iran and could lead to “serious and potentially irreparable harms.”
Iran has stated that entering into negotiations while under threats would imply vulnerability to coercion for the Islamic Republic.
The Leader stated that engaging in negotiations under intimidation would imply capitulating and conceding at every threat.
“If it were confirmed that we are vulnerable to threats, it would set a precedent that would never be broken. Today, they might say: if you pursue enrichment, we will react in a certain way. Tomorrow, the narrative might change to: if you possess missiles, we will respond with another action. This cycle of threats would be perpetual, and would lead us to a gradual withdrawal, one step at a time.”
Ayatollah Khamenei has stated that the United States is setting predetermined outcomes for any discussions, asserting that Washington’s demands equate to dictation instead of genuine negotiation.
Officials have revealed that the sole acceptable conclusion of negotiations is the cessation of Iran’s nuclear activities and enrichment program. Consequently, participation in talks would ultimately lead to the predetermined outcome dictated by these stipulations.
The Leader articulated a strong message, asserting, “This is not a negotiation. What we’re witnessing is mere dictation and imposition.”
“Is it truly a negotiation when one party dictates the outcome, insisting that the conclusion aligns solely with their desires and statements?”
The Leader highlighted recent U.S. demands for Iran to relinquish its long-range and even short-range missile capabilities.
Ayatollah Khamenei articulated that the objective of these demands was to leave Iran vulnerable and powerless, unable to mount any form of defense should it be attacked.
