Iran Unveils Innovative Personalized Smart Vaccine for Lung Cancer
An associate professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences has revealed the creation of a tailored, intelligent vaccine aimed at combating lung cancer.

Lung cancer continues to rank among the most lethal types of cancer globally, prompting ongoing research into cutting-edge and effective treatment methods. In this pursuit, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Yazdi, head of the Biotechnology Research Center at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and an Associate Professor at Iran’s Faculty of Pharmacy, has achieved notable progress in the creation of personalized, smart vaccines specifically targeting lung cancer.
Pars Today reports that Dr. Yazdi elaborated on the advancement of the Iranian smart vaccine for lung cancer, stating, “This groundbreaking vaccine is crafted using mRNA technology combined with AI-driven predictive algorithms, facilitating precise customization based on the genetic profile of each patient’s tumor.”
He stated that this strategy has the potential to considerably reduce the duration of the research and development process, while also paving the way for new advancements in lung cancer treatment and prevention.
Yazdi emphasizes that a significant advantage of the vaccine is its precise predictive capability. In contrast to traditional vaccines, which depend on broad trial and error, this innovative vaccine utilizes patients’ tumor genetic data alongside advanced AI algorithms to pinpoint the best vaccine candidate prior to clinical trials. This method has the potential to expedite the vaccine development process by up to 90%, cutting down the design and preparation phase to merely two to three weeks.
He highlighted that customizing vaccines not only facilitates therapies for cancer patients but also offers a preventative function for those at risk. This aspect elevates the vaccine from a conventional product to a groundbreaking instrument in precision medicine, heralding a significant advancement in lung cancer treatment.
