Iran’s Leading Military Figure Urges Air Defense Force to Boost Efficiency
Iran's senior military leader has emphasized the necessity for the Air Defense Force to enhance its capabilities and efficiency in response to evolving threats and possible acts of aggression targeting the nation.

On Sunday, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, issued a message to commemorate National Air Defense Day.
He noted that the day serves as a powerful reminder of the unwavering resolve and significant sacrifices made by courageous individuals who, driven by faith, expertise, and ingenuity, work tirelessly to safeguard the skies of Iran during pivotal moments.
He emphasized that recent security developments, both within the region and globally, have underscored the necessity to modernize military systems, enhance capabilities, and improve the operational readiness of the Air Defense Force. This need has been accentuated by the lessons learned from June’s Israeli-US aggression and the Iraqi-imposed war of the 1980s.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force is urged to strengthen its capabilities and authority as the nation’s primary defensive barrier. By integrating modern technologies, fostering indigenous innovations, and investing in dedicated, specialized human resources, the force aims to effectively counter emerging threats and potential adversarial actions, according to statements made.
Mousavi advocated for the adoption of a comprehensive national air defense system and emphasized the need for improved coordination and synergy between the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
