Terrorist ‘israeli Regime Launches Strikes, Deploys Helicopter-Borne Forces in Syrian Damascus Suburb

Zionist regime has launched fresh airstrikes accompanied by a raid involving helicopter-borne troops targeting a southern suburb of Damascus, the capital of Syria.

Media outlets affiliated with the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-led administration in Syria have reported that attacks on Wednesday targeted a former military barracks located in Kiswah.

A Syrian military source reported that the Israeli forces executed an airborne operation on the barracks, utilizing four helicopters.

The occupying forces deployed numerous soldiers along with search equipment, spending more than two hours at the location, according to the source.

Reports indicate that no confrontations have occurred between Israeli and Syrian forces.

The operation occurred just one day following Israeli drone attacks in the vicinity of Kiswah, which resulted in the deaths of six Syrian soldiers.

The foreign ministry of the HTS regime has denounced the deadly attacks that occurred on Tuesday, describing them as a “grave violation of international law” and a “clear breach of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

A statement highlighted the ongoing aggressive policies implemented by the Israeli occupation, which are seen as efforts to destabilize security and stability in the region.

The ministry has urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by compelling Israel to cease its violations against Syria.

Israel has initiated a series of extensive airstrikes on Syrian territory since December 2024, after HTS-led militants declared the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad’s government, following an intense two-week offensive.

Israel has intensified its presence in Syria by taking control of the area known as the buffer zone, which divides the occupied Golan Heights from the rest of Syria, in what is seen as a breach of the 1974 disengagement agreement.

Analysts suggest that HTS’s inaction and its attempts at normalization with Tel Aviv have provided the regime with increased latitude to seize additional Syrian territory and carry out aggressive acts against the nation.
