Iran Denounces Trump’s Allegation of Nuclear Weapon Development
Iran has rejected Trump's allegations concerning its peaceful nuclear program, characterizing the claims as outdated statements typically made by any ordinary Iranian citizen.

On Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei took to X to address a recent media post by Trump, who alleged that Iran is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons.
Baghaei stated that the accusation stemmed from statements made years earlier by an Iranian citizen, which have been consistently dismissed by senior Iranian officials and even certain American officials.
He asserted that Trump’s allegations are part of an attempt to rationalize the United States’ illegal assault on Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites and to bolster Israel’s military actions against the nation.
He also cited testimony from the US Director of National Intelligence, who confirmed that the intelligence community continues to evaluate that Iran is not pursuing the development of a nuclear weapon.
In an attempt to implicate Iran, Trump disregards Tulsi Gabbard’s congressional testimony from March 2025, opting instead to depend on the personal assessment of an Iranian national dating back to 2022, according to remarks made by Baghaei.
Baghaei concluded that the approach reveals the political nature, rather than the factual foundation, of Trump’s assertions.
Iranian authorities assert that their nation is not pursuing nuclear armaments, adhering to a religious edict from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
In June, Israeli forces conducted a series of aggressive operations against Iranian territory, aiming at high-ranking military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The Natanz nuclear facility, located in Isfahan, Iran, was intentionally targeted in an attack that has been widely condemned for breaching international laws.
In response to the situation, Iran initiated a counter-attack operation named ‘True Promise III,’ citing self-defense measures. The Iranian Armed Forces launched a vast array of ballistic missiles and drones amid what they described as an unprovoked conflict with Israel. This offensive prompted Israel to call for a ceasefire after 12 days.
