In Tel Aviv on Saturday, families of Israeli captives in Gaza, alongside their supporters, convened to urge the Israeli government to negotiate an agreement to conclude the conflict in the beleaguered territory. This appeal follows the release of videos by Palestinian resistance groups earlier this week, showcasing the captives.
In Tel Aviv, hundreds of Israelis staged a protest advocating for the captives, as family members established a barbed wire encampment. This action follows the recent release of videos by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad resistance movements, depicting the grave conditions faced by hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski.
A mother of an Israeli captive expressed her anguish, stating, “Recently, we witnessed the distressing videos of Rom and Evyatar in captivity.”
A mother of hostage Matan Zangauker voiced her concerns at a protest, stating, “Our children are experiencing a Holocaust, while Jews are becoming emaciated due to political survival.”
She alluded to claims suggesting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be extending the conflict in Gaza as a strategy to satisfy his far-right coalition allies and maintain his political position.
Zangauker asserted that immediate action is necessary, warning that failure to release individuals promptly could jeopardize their chances of survival.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli Hostage Family Forum urged the Israeli government to secure a comprehensive agreement regarding Gaza and bring an end to the ongoing conflict.
A statement has been issued urging both the Israeli government and the United States administration to directly confront the imminent threat to their loved ones’ lives. The message stresses the increasing risk associated with the deceased and calls for urgent action towards a comprehensive resolution and the conclusion of the ongoing conflict. It demands an end to procrastination and abandoning of those involved, urging authorities to halt this ordeal and facilitate their return from the tunnels to safety.
**Footage Emerges of Hostages Held by Israel**
The Hamas resistance group on Friday released a new video featuring captive David, following the previous day’s release of a video by Palestinian Islamic Jihad showcasing captive Braslavski.
A video recently released by Hamas draws a comparison between Israeli captive David and a malnourished Palestinian child in Gaza, attributing the child’s condition to the famine resulting from the Israeli blockade. The video holds the Zionist government accountable for the ramifications of the ongoing conflict.
Israeli media outlets have reported that the family of Israeli captive David did not give authorization for the release of a video intended for the Israeli public. Despite this, the footage has been disseminated across social media platforms.
The Times of Israel has reported that the sister of captive David has expressed the gravity of the situation, highlighting the concerning physical condition Evyatar was in as witnessed by those who have now seen it.
