Zionist Air Force Conducts Strikes on Southern Syria Installations

Zionist air force conducted strikes targeting installations previously operated by the military forces of former President Bashar al-Assad. These sites, now controlled by the militant faction Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), were located in the southwestern province of Suweida.

According to reports from local media, two airstrikes targeted locations close to the town of al-Mazraa on Monday night.

According to informed sources, explosions were reportedly heard in the vicinity of Kanaker town.

Reports indicate that while material damage has occurred, there is currently no available information regarding potential casualties.

The Israeli military has declared it will not permit the formation of any military threat in southern Syria and is prepared to take action to prevent it.

Early on Monday, forces from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched an offensive in Suweida after deadly clashes erupted between Druze and Bedouin factions. The conflict has led to dozens of fatalities and left hundreds injured.

At least 99 individuals have lost their lives, with approximately 200 others injured in the last two days amid escalating clashes in Syria’s Suweida province. The conflict involves local Druze fighters, Bedouin tribes, and HTS forces, according to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

As reported by the Britain-based monitoring group, the casualties comprise 60 individuals from the Druze community, including two women and two children, 18 members of Bedouin tribes, 14 fighters from HTS, and seven unidentified persons in military attire.

Following the collapse of Assad’s government, Israeli military forces have initiated a series of airstrikes targeting military installations, facilities, and arsenals previously operated by Syria’s government forces, now disbanded.

Israel has faced widespread criticism for its decision to terminate the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Syria. The move has been condemned as an exploitation of the turmoil in Syria following Assad’s downfall, with many accusing Israel of attempting to seize land amid the chaos.

The United Nations has issued a condemnation of the continued Israeli assaults within Syrian borders, as well as the repeated breaches occurring in and surrounding the buffer zone established by the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Damascus.
