The conflict involving Israel in the Gaza Strip has persisted for a second consecutive year, now reaching its 715th day. The situation has led to a severe humanitarian crisis, characterized by extensive loss of life, widespread destruction, displacement of residents, and the systematic deprivation of resources affecting the civilian population.
The massacres have led to a significant toll, with tens of thousands killed and injured, alongside thousands unaccounted for, either trapped beneath debris or held in Israeli prisons under the practice of “enforced disappearance.”
In its latest update, the Ministry of Health has reported that casualties from the ongoing conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, have climbed to 65,174 fatalities and 166,071 injuries. Notably, since March 18, 2025, alone, there have been reports of 12,622 deaths and over 54,030 injuries. The Ministry highlighted that numerous victims remain trapped under debris and in the streets, inaccessible to ambulances and civil defense teams due to heavy artillery. Furthermore, addressing the so-called “livelihood” casualties, the Ministry revealed that hospitals recorded one death and 17 injuries in the past day, escalating the total count of such victims to 2,514 fatalities and over 18,431 injured since the onset of the conflict.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported a significant health crisis in Gaza, with 28,000 cases of severe malnutrition documented among children under five during July and August. This alarming figure highlights the extent of the humanitarian emergency confronting the region.
The occupying forces have maintained a relentless assault, launching airstrikes over recent hours. Among the targets were the residence of the Al-Jamla family in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza, as well as the electricity company in Nuseirat, situated in central Gaza Strip. Further strikes were directed at the vicinity of the Islamic University in southwest Gaza, and the Al-Katiba area in Khan Yunis.
In a recent development, an airstrike targeted a tent shelter housing displaced individuals near the Islamic University, resulting in injuries to six people. Additionally, a bombing at Al-Mu’tasim School, which was serving as a refuge for displaced persons near Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City, led to two casualties and several others being injured.
In the early hours, powerful artillery shelling and gunfire erupted from Israeli military vehicles in both the northern and southern regions of Gaza City. Quadcopters unleashed a barrage of fire indiscriminately in the western section of the Italian compound, while helicopters conducted intense firing northwest of the city. Additionally, artillery units discharged illumination bombs north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in the central Gaza Strip.
