180,000 Captagon pills seized in Syria, bound for Saudi Arabia

Syrian anti-narcotics authorities have intercepted a large shipment of Captagon pills hidden in shoes and horse saddles bound for Saudi Arabia.
The Interior Ministry said on its Telegram channel that the seizure followed monitoring and inspections at shipping and export companies, resulting in the confiscation of approximately 180,000 pills. Authorities also arrested a suspect identified as “M.J.” and referred him for further investigation.
Earlier this month, on February 15, Syrian border guards foiled another drug-smuggling attempt across the Lebanese border in the Zabadani area of rural Damascus.
