Syrian, Iranian talks on developing joint economic cooperation

Tehran, SANA- Syrian Ambassador to Iran, Dr. Shafik Dayoub, discussed Saturday with the Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) Mahmoud Najafi Arab, ways to develop the joint cooperation in the economic, commercial, industrial, agricultural, scientific and investment fields.

Dayoub pointed out the importance of exerting joint efforts to achieve a qualitative leap in the volume of cooperation in various fields in light of the direction of the leadership of the two countries, and the serious desire of those concerned and the relevant sectors to benefit from the available capabilities within purposeful plans and programs serve the interests of the two countries and the region in general.

The Ambassador referred to the role of the private sector in Damascus and Tehran in carrying out economic projects amid unjust sanctions imposed on both sides in addition to the measures taken by the governments of the two friendly countries to strengthen relations.

Dayoub pointed out the facilities provided by Syria to attract and encourage investors, including Law No. 18 on foreign and national investment for the year 2021 and its amendments last year.

Najafi Arab, in turn, stressed that Iran attaches special importance to relations and cooperation with Syria in various fields, especially that there is a suitable, broad and diverse environment for investment on the ground.

Both sides agreed to appoint a team from the Syrian embassy and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, to follow up on what has been discussed, overcome obstacles, and communicate with the relevant authorities to achieve the desired results as soon as possible.
