Syrian Army Preparing to Attack ISIL Positions in Hasaka

Informed military sources in the Northeastern province of Hasaka confirmed on Tuesday that the Syrian Army is preparing to storm the strongholds of ISIL terrorist group in the city of Hasaka from three directions.

The sources voiced satisfaction in the army’s advances against the ISIL terrorists and said that the army men have now gained the upper hand in Northeastern battlefields.

The sources went on to say that the army is preparing to launch massive offensive to retake full control over the remaining parts of Hasaka’s districts that were captured by the ISIL terrorists nearly a week ago.

The sources said that the main barriers in front of the army men’s rapid advance to retake control over the city are suicide-attackers of the ISIL who use explosive-laden cars for suicide operations.

The sources also revealed that the ISIL executed at least 30 members of its own due to their escape from the nearby battlefronts of Hasaka.

A report said on Monday that the Syrian army, in fresh rounds of massive operations, stormed ISIL’s positions in Hasaka and pushed them back from the battlefront.

The report said “fierce combat” had allowed government forces to push the ISIL militants away from the Southern edge of Hasaka city, the capital of the province.

“The ISIL, which has been at the Southern entrance of the city since Thursday, was forced to pull back two kilometers after fierce combat with the Syrian army men,” the report said.

The ISIL began an assault on Hasaka on May 30, advancing to the Southern entrance to the city last week.

Control of Hasaka city is shared between government forces and Kurdish fighters.

The ISIL assault on Hasaka that began on May 30 has so far left at least 119 killed and several others wounded.
