Syrian Army Destroys Terrorists’ Military Positions, Military Vehicle in Hama Province

The Syrian army’s ground force targeted and destroyed the terrorists’ military positions in the surrounding areas of Atshan village Northeast of Hama as the country’s air force struck different regions in the town of al-Lataminah.
The ground troops also advanced in several districts of al-Lataminah town with air force backup.

The Syrian fighter jets also pounded military positions of the terrorists in the village of Um Harateen in Northeastern countryside of Hama and al-Zara village in Southern Hama.

Meantime, the terrorists’ military positions in Hirbnafsa in Southern Hama also came under the Syrian airstrikes.

In the Southwestern countryside of Hama, the Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) attempted to take control of al-Zara power plant, but they were pushed back by the Syrian army.

The Syrian army also destroyed a BMP vehicle in al-Madajen Front to the North of al-Zara village.

In a relevant development on Monday, the Syrian army intensified its attacks on the terrorist groups in the Southern countryside of the city of Hama, killing several terrorists and injuring many others.

Heavy clashes took place in the town of al-Zara and Hirbnafsa in Hama’s Southern countryside.

At least four terrorists were killed and several others were wounded in fierce clashes with the Syrian army.

In the meantime, the Syrian army’s military choppers pounded the terrorists’ military positions in al-Zara and Hirbnafsa towns

Also on Monday, the Syrian army once again repelled large-scale attack by terrorist groups on a strategic power plant in Hama province.

Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) and Ahrar al-Sham targeted al-Zara power plant in the Southern countryside of Hama city with a number of rocket shells, causing a huge material damage.

An informed source said that the terrorists attacked al-Zara power plant in an attempt to enter and establish control over it, but units of the Syrian army in the vicinity of the plant foiled the attack and killed a number of the militants.

The source added that the terrorists fired a number of rocket shells on the plant during the attack causing a huge material damage to one of the generators.

Syrian army soldiers in recent months have frequently repulsed numerous assaults of the terrorist groups on the power plant.

Pro-government forces on late May managed to end siege on key power plant of Hama province, taking full control over it after days of fierce clashes with militants in the region.
