Syrian Army destroys ISIL’s large supply tunnel in Deir Ezzor City

The Syrian Arab Army unearthed a massive tunnel belonging to the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization inside the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Saturday.

According to local reports, the Syrian Arab Army unearthed this tunnel inside the Old Airport District of Deir Ezzor after carrying out a cleansing operation in the area.

The tunnel was reportedly 150 meters long and was used by the Islamic State to sneak supplies to militants combating the Syrian Arab Army units in the provincial capital of this desert province.

The Old Airport District of Deir Ezzor City is located at the western part of the provincial capital; it is still contested.
