A growing number of Fatah al-Sham (the newly formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) terrorists are surrendering to the authorities in Eastern districts of Aleppo city.

“The growing trend of surrunder among the terrorists in the Eastern districts of Aleppo has caused Fatah al-Sham’s commanders to take preventive measures across the militant-held neighborhoods in the city,” the sources said.

“Fatah al-Sham has deployed more monitoring checkpoints across the Eastern districts of Aleppo to confront those militants who try to surrender to the government forces and takes tough action against those who intend to lay down arms,” they added.

On Friday, Syria’s military aircraft dropped leaflets over terrorist-held districts in the Eastern part of Aleppo city, urging the militants to lay down their arms and surrender themselves to the authorities, local sources said.

The sources said that the Syrian army warned the terrorists in the Eastern districts of Aleppo city of eventual defeat in the ongoing war.

“The Syrian army has called on the militants not to miss this opportunity and surrender themselves to the army soldiers as soon as possible,” the sources added.
