Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Attacks on Gov’t Positions in Homs

Syrian army soldiers repelled terrorists’ massive attack on their positions in Homs province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.

The ISIL terrorists’ large-scale attack to capture the government forces’ positions in Southeastern Homs was fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Deir Ezzur and Aleppo, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in Syria’s key provinces.

Homs

Syrian Army soldiers repelled a large-scale attack of ISIL on its positions in Southeastern Homs, while the country’s fighter jets pounded terrorists’ centers in two oil-rich regions of the province.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL terrorists, who attacked several government positions in al-Quaryatayn region in Southeastern Homs.

Reports said the army has inflicted casualties on the militants and destroyed a number of their vehicles.

ISIL retreated from the battlefield after sustaining heavy losses, the reports added.

The Syrian warplanes also carried out several continued strikes on ISIL position and bases near the oilfields of al-Maher and al-Sha’er and the village of Huweises, near the town of al-Quaryatayn, claiming the lives of a number of terrorists and destroying their positions and vehicles.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian military forces warded off ISIL’s offensive on government forces’ positions Southeast of Deir Ezzur city, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.

The army soldiers repelled ISIL’s attack on their strongholds in al-Jafrah region, killing most of the terrorists and destroying three of their vehicles.

In the meantime, the army men stormed ISIL’s centers in Huweija al-Sakar Southeast of Deir Ezzur city, leaving a number of militants dead.

Also, over 30 terrorists were killed and a large volume of their equipment were destroyed in the army’s 3-day-long operation in the neighborhood of al-Sina’ah, areas surrounding the Deir Ezzur airbase, and the oilfields of Koniko and al-Yatim.

The army soldiers also repelled a similar massive offensive of the ISIL terrorists on their positions near Deir Ezzur airbase, inflicting a heavy death toll on invading militants, while the country’s Air Force carried out simultaneous air raids on militants’ gatherings in the battlefield.

The army soldiers warded off ISIL terrorists’ assault on the Southeastern side of Zamen Battalion near Deir Ezzur airbase.

The army aircraft concurrently pounded ISIL’s gathering near the airbase, inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

The warplanes also targeted ISIL’s concentration centers in the districts of al-Khasarat, Kanamat, al-Sina’ah and the surrounding areas of al-Jafrah village, inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

The army also targeted ISIL’s gatherings near the Koniko oilfield in Eastern Homs, claiming the lives of tens of terrorists and destroying the military vehicles.

Aleppo

Syrian military forces started a fresh round of large-scale attack against the Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in the district of Sheikh Saeed, inflicting major losses on the militants.

The army soldiers engaged in heavy fighting with the terrorists in several flanks in Sheikh Saeed.

In the meantime, army’s missile and artillery units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ concentration centers in Sheikh Saeed this morning.

After the missile and artillery attacks, ground troops stormed Jeish al-Fatah’s positions from the Western flank.

Army’s missile units also shelled heavily terrorists’ centers in Aqarib neighborhood in Southern Aleppo.

Pro-government forces also clashed with terrorists in Sawq al-Jebes, taking control of a main part of the neighborhood after hours of heavy fighting.

Army’s artillery units also kept shelling terrorists’ bases in the neighborhoods of al-Rashedeen 4 and 5.

After capturing the Air Defense Battalion and its nearby hills, Housing Project 1070 and al-Hikmah School, the Syrian army now plans to open its way further into Southern Aleppo in order to win back key town of Khan Touman.

The army, the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi al-Nujaba have now deployed hundreds of their fighters in the Southern part of Aleppo to start jointly a fresh round of offensives to liberate Khan Touman right after capturing al-Rashedeen 4 and 5 and Sheikh Saeed and its surrounding reigns.

Meantime, the Syrian Army soldiers and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters continued to advance against Jeish al-Fatah in Bostan al-Pasha district Northeastern of Aleppo city and drove the terrorists out of the remaining 25 percent of land that was still under their control.

The army’s missile and artillery units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ centers in Bostan al-Pasha, while other pro-government troops engaged in fierce clashes with the militants and pushed them back from more positions.

The army soldiers have the Central part as well as a large part of Western Bostan al-Pasha under their control, while terrorists have maintained control over a small area of land in the Northern part of the district.

Syrian army and popular forces are advancing towards the Old Sheikh Najjar district from the direction of al-Zohour heights, taking back several workshops.

Pro-government forces also are advancing against militants in Jabal Badrou strategic district from the al-Zohour heights flank.

The operations in these regions are of paramount importance since al-Zohour Heights overlook Hananou and other quarters in the Eastern part of Aleppo city.

Jabal Badrou is adjacent to Sheikh Najjar industrial zone and Aleppo airport and the battle in this warfront would play a decisive role in the fate of war in Eastern Aleppo.

A military source disclosed earlier today that Syrian military forces continued to advance against Jeish al-Fatah in Eastern Aleppo and captured their operation room.
