Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Conducts Massive Operations in Damascus Countryside

The army units carried out extensive military operations in Al-Maliha region in Damascus countryside.
The Syrian army moved towards Al-Maliha from several angles and could make major advances in the region.
Also in the past 24 hours, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that Syrian people have no choice but to achieve victory in their war against terrorism and the extremist obscurantist thinking that is alien to the Syrian society.
President’s remarks came during his meeting with a delegation of the Russia-based Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, headed by Society’s Chairman Sergei Stepashin.
He added this victory can be achieved through firmly sticking to diversity, moderation and intellectual enlightenment that have characterized the Syrian society throughout decades.
Meantime, the US administration decided to expand its military aids to the terrorist groups in Syria in an attempt to reinvigorate its relations with the Saudi Arabia.
The aid will include training 600 terrorist per month and providing the militant groups in Syria with air defense missiles, according to the American Washington Post.
Also, the army carried out several successful operations against the militant groups across Syria on Wednesday, killing and injuring a number of militants and destroying their hideouts and weapons.
Elsewhere, a unit of the armed forces targeted a militant group in Tesil area in the Western countryside of Daraa, killing all its members, including the leader Yaser Abu Yahya.
A military source said that army units killed and injured a number of militants in al-Zabayer area in Allajat, al-Samaqiyat farms and Etman town in the countryside and the surrounding of al-Hajeh town in Quneitra countryside.
The army also destroyed a number of the militants’ cars equipped with heavy machineguns in the operation.
