Rouhani in meeting with senior North Korean official
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Head of North Korea’s Supreme Assembly here on Sunday highlighted the importance of strengthening of peace and stability in East Asia for the world and specially the Asian countries.
The meeting between President Rouhani and North Korean official took place on the sidelines of 17th Non-Aligned Movement summit meeting in Venezuela.President Rouhani said that the rise in the regional tensions should result in paving the way for presence and interference of the big power in the region.
‘The issue of peace and stability in the Eastern Asia is important for all of us and everyone should safeguard the security and peace with wisdom, especially in the region and Eastern Asia,’ he added.
The senior North Korean official, for his part, described Iran-North Korea relations as age-old, and said that Pyongyang welcomes the expansion of mutual cooperation with Tehran.
