Resistance strikes down US plot to secure Israel’s control over region: Islamic Jihad

A senior official of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement says the United States is leading Israel’s brutal war on the besieged Gaza Strip in an attempt to “uproot” the resistance, which has scuppered Washington’s plans to secure the occupying regime’s control over the region.

Mohammad al-Hindi, deputy secretary general of the movement noted that the Operation al-Aqsa Storm was a “lightning bolt” that struck all US arrangements aimed at ending the Palestine cause and establishing Israel’s dominance over the region.

Hindi noted that the US and Western countries seek to “eradicate” the resistance because Israel protects their interests in the region.

He stressed that the resistance “is neither a building nor a government to be overthrown,” adding that after 74 days of constant attacks by the Israeli regime, the resistance still has the upper hand in Gaza.

Islamic Jihad leader further denounced as “worthless talk” the US talk about a two-state solution, adding that the future of Palestine will be decided by the outcome of the current war.

He reiterated that the resistance defends the Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, noting that opinion polls confirm that 80 percent of the Palestinians are calling on the Palestinian Authority to leave.

Hindi concluded that the Arab and Muslim countries “have shown great helplessness during the current war,” adding that they can do many things to stop the war, “instead of trying to clarify the picture for the Western countries that are essentially running the war.”

Hamas determination to fight occupation outweighs group’s missiles: Senior official

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime’s decades-long violence against Palestinians.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed over 19,400 Palestinians and injured more than 52,000 others.

The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
