Photojournalist Perishes in Barbaric ‘israeli’ Bombing of Family Residence in Gaza

A Palestinian journalist and several family members have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip, amid ongoing hostilities in the region.

Local media outlets have reported a tragic incident in which correspondent and photojournalist Fatima Hassouna, along with several of her family members, were killed in an air strike targeting their residence in Gaza City early on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, Hamas sharply condemned the deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces, describing it as a clear violation of international and humanitarian law.

The resistance group has claimed that the killing of journalists is part of a broader genocidal initiative by Israeli forces targeting the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The movement emphasized that the fatalities of more than 200 Palestinian journalists in Gaza — numerous victims lost along with their families and children — as a result of Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and gunfire, underscore what is described as the occupying regime’s deliberate and retaliatory effort to stifle the media and dissuade journalists from uncovering the truths of the situation in the region.

Hamas has issued a statement condemning what it describes as “unprecedented crimes against journalists” in the context of modern conflicts, urging the international community, the United Nations, and judicial authorities to take swift action. The organization is calling for accountability from Israeli leadership.

The statement urged global media organizations and press freedom institutions to denounce these actions, while intensifying efforts to boycott and isolate Israel over its continuous assaults on journalists and media professionals.
