Iraqi Army troops liberated another district in the western sector of Mosul, yesterday, forcing the remaining Islamic State (ISIL) terrorists to withdraw to the small pocket they control in the city.

Led by their Special Forces, the Iraqi Army, alongside the Federal Police, liberated the Al-Islah Al-Zara’i District in western Mosul, killing and wounding a large number of Islamic State terrorists in the process of this advance on Friday.

According to local activists, the Iraqi Army and their allies killed more than 40 Islamic State terrorists during Friday’s operations in the Al-Islah Al-Zara’i District.

With the entire city almost ISIL-free, the Iraqi Armed Forces have begun to shift their attention to the strategic town of Tal ‘Afar, which remains the Islamic State’s last stronghold in the Nineveh Governorate that has not been attacked by the government and their allies.
