Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei commended Iran’s Army commander for his emphasis on unity among all Iranian Armed Forces, describing such a stance as a sign of the commander’s executive intelligence.

In a meeting with a group of top commanders from the Iranian Army Ground Force, held in Tehran on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei praised Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi for his recent “revolutionary and unifying” comments about the solidarity between the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

“For all his organizational bonds with and emotional commitment to the Army… Major General Mousavi made very good comments about the unity of Armed Forces, which signify (his) executive intelligence and moral virtues,” Imam Khamenei said.

The comments came a day after the Army chief expressed backing for the IRGC, saying all Iranian military forces work hand in hand against the Zionist regime of Israel.

Elsewhere in the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the young forces serving in the Army to make every effort and use all human potentials and innovations to help the Army’s progress.

“The advances must continue to make tomorrow’s Army better, stronger, more efficient and more revolutionary than today,” the Leader underlined.

In remarks in 2016, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian Armed Forces for employing a combination of military effectiveness and spiritual motivations, urging an incessant push to strengthen those capabilities.

The Armed Forces belong not to a specific individual or faction, but to the nation and country, protecting the national security, Ayatollah Khamenei said in April 2016.

The Leader also stressed the need for the simultaneous reinforcement of operational military capabilities and spiritual motives of the Armed Forces.
