Jordan’s Air Force has confirmed reports that the ISIL terrorists captured one of its pilots after the aircraft went down during a mission in Syria.

“During a mission Wednesday morning conducted by several Jordanian Air Force planes against hideouts of the IS (ISIL) terrorist organization in the Raqqa region, one of the planes went down and the pilot was taken hostage” by the ISIL, official news agency Petra quoted a source from the Jordanian military’s general staff as saying on Wednesday.
The official declined to say why the plane went down. However, the Takfiri terrorists and the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said earlier in the day that the aircraft had been shot with an anti-aircraft missile.
ISIL also released photos on the net showing the captured Jordanian pilot along with a card identifying him as 26-year-old First Lieutenant Maaz al-Kassasbeh.
According to Jordanian media reports, the pilot’s father, Youssef, also confirmed his son’s capture and said he was told the military is “working to save his life.”
