Israeli occupation forces detain five Syrians during incursions into Quneitra

Israeli occupation forces carried out incursions into areas of northern and southern Quneitra countryside overnight, detaining five young men, including minors, in the latest violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

SANA’s reporter in Quneitra said an Israeli force entered the village of Sayda al-Hanout in southern Quneitra countryside shortly after midnight and detained a young man before taking him into the occupied Syrian Golan.

In a separate incursion, Israeli forces backed by several military vehicles entered the town of Jabata al-Khashab in northern Quneitra countryside and detained four young men, including minors.

The detentions came a day after Israeli forces conducted a series of incursions into villages and agricultural areas across Quneitra countryside.

On Saturday, an Israeli force entered Sayda al-Hanout, where it established a temporary checkpoint, searched civilians and vehicles, and later withdrew from the area.

Israel has continued military incursions and attacks in southern Syria in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Syria has repeatedly called on the international community to press for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory and to halt ongoing violations in the south.
