ISIL has officially withdrawn all of their forces outside of the Fire Battalion (Kateeb Al-Neeraan) Base located south of the Deir Ezzor Military Airport after multiple air raids by the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) and a barrage of artillery shells were fired by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) that resulted in a number of dead militants. The ISIS fighters were unable to hold their positions outside of the base due to the onslaught; this has forced ISIS to concentrate on the eastern perimeter of the Military Airport, despite their exposed positions in this area.

The 104th Brigade of the Republican Guard and members of the National Defense Forces carried out a series of attacks on ISIS positions in Hajeewa Sakr (Sakr Island) earlier today. The raids resulted in the death of 16 ISIS fighters and the destruction of 4 vehicles that were mounted with a 23mm machine guns and doshkas. The 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard saw most of their action near the eastern bank of Sakr Island, where ISIS militants have established a supply dock on the Euphrates River.

Despite reports of violent skirmishes at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport, the majority of firefights have taken place at the Hatla Quarter, Ghassan ‘Abboud Neighborhood, Al-‘Ardi Quarter, and the Jubeileh Quarter. A member of the 104th Brigade confirmed at 6 P.M. Damascus Time that the Military Airport is safe and that there are no firefights taking place in its vicinity.
