The Syrian Army troops and popular forces stormed ISIL’s defense lines in the Eastern territories of Aleppo province and managed to take back three more villages, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

The army soldiers and al-Baqir tribal fighters managed to take full control of Jafirah, Abu Maqbarah Al-Kabeera and Abu Maqbarah Saghira villages following hours of clashes with ISIL terrorists.

Military sources said that moving Eastwards along the M4 highway, the government forces hope to capture Jirah Airbase in the near future and push towards the ISIL bastion of Maskanah, thus reaching the provincial border between Aleppo and Raqqa.

In relevant developments in the province on Saturday, the strategic city of Deir Hafer, the last ISIL stronghold in the Eastern part of Aleppo province, was captured by the Syrian army and its allied forces after heavy clashes with the terrorist group, giving the government forces a major platform for initiating a major assault on Raqqa, the ISIL’s self-proclaimed capital in Syria.

The army units could win back the city after fierce clashes and killing and wounding tens of ISIL terrorists on Saturday.

The latest reports said the army’s engineering units had already started operations to cleanse the region from bombs and mines planted by the terrorists at the entrances of the city.

Meantime, the ISIL terrorists fled to Maskaneh city after withdrawal from Deir Hafer to prevent the army’s further advances in the region, added the reports.

The Syrian army forces had completed their siege over the strategic city of Deir Hafer on Friday.

The army units started massive and heavy attacks against the terrorists in Deir Hafer region from the two Northern and Southern directions, and liberated the two towns of Jeni al-Salameh and Um al-Mara near Um Adaseh and Khalileh towns just to the East of Deir Hafer.

All supply routes of the terrorist group in the region had been blocked on Friday.

A military source predicted on Friday that the Syrian soldiers were on the verge of a complete victory and would soon capture Deir Hafer as ISIL’s defense lines were collapsing in the city.
