Iran not currently engage in talks with US: FM Araghchi
Referring to the negotiations between Iran and the US, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has emphasized that Iran is not currently engaging in talks with the United States.
“We are not currently engaged in negotiations with the US, but messages are being exchanged through intermediaries,” Iran’s top diplomat underlined.
He said that some countries are still working to pave the way for renewed talks, stating, “However, negotiations cannot resume until the US ends its violation of the Islamabad MoU and takes steps to make up for the violations it has committed.”
“Our talks with Oman concern establishing a new maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz,” the foreign minister underlined.
Existing routes will be replaced with new ones, he continued.
“Talks with Oman do not mean the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened. An agreement may be reached, but reopening the strait depends on other conditions conveyed through intermediaries,” the country’s top diplomat emphasized.
