Iran Condemns US Strike on Migrant Detention Center in Yemen

The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson strongly condemned an American military strike on a migrant detention center in Yemen that has killed dozens of people and wounded many more.
In a statement on Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the relentless US attacks on civilian targets, vital infrastructure, and homes of people in various parts of Yemen, which have killed hundreds of innocent people, as a war crime.
The Iranian spokesman strongly criticized the silence and indifference of the UN and human rights organizations on this blatant lawlessness and repeated violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
Referring to the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine and its aggression against Lebanon, Baqaei said the US military aggression against Yemen is part of the Israeli regime’s sinister plan to destroy and weaken Muslim countries and destabilize the entire West Asia region.
He also underlined the historical responsibility of all Muslim nations to take effective measures to stop the killing of Muslim people of Yemen and to prevent the continuation of genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.
The US attacks on a migrant detention center in Saada and on Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, have killed dozens of people.
At least 68 people were killed in the overnight strike on detained African migrants and eight people were killed around the capital.
The latest US bombing raids raised the death toll from US strikes on Yemen since March 15 to more than 250 people.
