Houthi: Yemen to step up anti-Israeli ops ‘in quality and quantity’

Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi says Yemeni forces will continue their military operations and escalate them “in quality and quantity” in support of Palestinians in Israel’s war on Gaza.

Yemeni forces have been targeting ships bound for Israeli ports and others linked to the occupying regime in the Red Sea region since November. They later expanded the scope of their operations to the Indian Ocean and said they would also target any ships heading towards Israeli ports in the Mediterranean Sea.

In a televised address on Thursday, al-Houthi said 129 ships have been targeted since the start of the operations “which is a large number”.

“There is no decline in the level of our operations, but a reduction in the movement of American and British ships to Occupied Palestine,” he said, dismissing some claims that Yemen has tamped down its attacks.

This week, Yemeni forces have carried out 12 operations in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, Houthi said.

“The operation continues in the framework of the fourth phase and will increase in terms of quantity and quality.”
