Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem issued a stern warning on Saturday, indicating that the Lebanese resistance group will not indefinitely endure ongoing Israeli assaults on Lebanon, emphasizing that “everything has its limits.”

In a televised address during the Ashura commemoration held in Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh, Sheikh Qassem articulated that Hezbollah’s pro-Gaza activities, conducted in late 2023 after the intense conflict in Gaza and the significant Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, were undertaken as a “moral obligation in support of justice.”

In reference to the Israeli conflict in Lebanon in late 2024, His Eminence stated that the Israeli forces were responsible for the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary Generals Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safeiddine, following significant attacks.

Sheikh Qassem declared that they achieved triumph through resilience, recovering and maintaining their ground until a ceasefire was established. He highlighted their success in inflicting significant damage on the adversary during the 66-day Israeli conflict, which was concluded by a ceasefire agreement effective November 27, 2024.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, addressing attendees at the Sayyed Shuhada Complex, emphasized that the sacrifices made by the martyrs provide momentum and strength, while the sacrifices of the wounded increase responsibility.

Sheikh Qassem stated that the ceasefire agreement marks the onset of a new phase, which symbolizes the responsibility of the Lebanese State. He emphasized that addressing Israeli aggression and countering Zionist ceasefire violations falls under the jurisdiction of the Lebanese government.

The recent incidents, including the aggression on Nabatieh and the attack on currency exchange workers, are deemed unacceptable. It is imperative for the state to assume its responsibilities in addressing these issues.

In response to calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament, Sheikh Qassem stated, “It is inconceivable for any rational person to expect us to relinquish our sources of strength while the Israeli adversary continues to breach the ceasefire agreement and persist in its assaults on Lebanon.”

In a recent statement, a senior figure cautioned that Hezbollah will not remain silent in response to ongoing Israeli violations.

There is growing anticipation from a community that has vocally stated it will not stay silent in the face of perceived injustices. Emphasizing their resilience, the group, known for its defiant slogan “Humiliation…Never!”, has made it clear that previous interactions have already demonstrated their stance.

Sheikh Qassem declared that the path forward is consistently one of dignity, asserting that success is inevitable. He invited others to witness what victory entails, emphasizing that if triumph is not achieved on the first day, it will be on the subsequent days. He confidently stated that they are invariably victorious, whether through conquest or martyrdom.

He also issued a cautionary statement regarding Israeli expansionist ambitions.

“According to analysis, a perceived vulnerability often leads to an expansion by Israel.”
