Debate: Are we seeing the beginning of the end of the ISIL takfiri group?

The noose seems to be tightening around the necks of ISIL terrorists in the Diyala province, north of the capital Baghdad. This is while the Iraqi army along with volunteers is continuing to make more gains in the region.

More than a dozen villages have been liberated and scores of the militants have been killed during the operations.

At least three would-be bombers wearing explosive vests were killed near Mugdadiyah, about 100 kilometers from Baghdad.

Meanwhile, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters have reclaimed an area of about 500 square kilometers near the city of Mosul, killing many of the ISIL militants.

In this edition of The Debate, Press TV has conducted an interview with Frederick Peterson, Congressional defense policy adviser from New York, and Zayd al-Isa, Middle East Expert from London, to ask whether or not Diyala victories set the stage for more advances throughout the regions under ISIL occupation.
