Amid crisis Syrian Govenrment inaugurated new health center in Damascus Countryside

20140409-172301 (1)Health Ministry, in cooperation with Damascus Countryside governorate, inaugurated Yafour Health Center to offer services to more than five thousand citizens and 7 hundred families of those who were displaced by the acts of the armed terrorist groups.
Minister of Health, Dr. Saad al-Nayef said in a press statement following the inauguration that the center will provide services to the locals in the town and farms of Yafour and the neighboring Ras al-Ein town, and will serve 700 families displaced from their homes due to terrorist acts.
He said that a number of the locals had helped in building the center before they put it at the disposal of Damascus countryside health directorate, which in turn equipped it with medical equipment and medicine.
“The center is a new story of success for partnership between civil society and government bodies amid uphill challenges facing the health sector under the crisis,’’ the minister added.
Damascus countryside governor, Hussein Makhlouf voiced appreciation for the locals’ initiative and cooperation with the Health Ministry to establish Yafour health center, indicating that the army’s achievements on the ground will be supplemented by additional services.
Head of the center, Osama Ali said the center is thought to provide preventive services and treatment for more than 5 thousand citizens, adding that it is currently participating in the 5th polio vaccination campaign that targets up to 700 children under five years of age.
