Zarif to Annan: Iran to Provide Qatar with Humanitarian Aids

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan that Iran will supply humanitarian aids for Qatar.

During a meeting with Annan in Oslo, Zarif pointed to the pressures imposed on Qatar by Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was held Tuesday on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum, 2017 June 13-14.

For his part, Annan warned that in case of deterioration of the regional condition all countries will be losers.

During the meeting both sides discussed developments in the regional countries such as Qatar and Syria, IRNA news agency reported.

The former UN S.G. said that recent presidential (May 19) elections in Iran has signaled required message to West.

The top Iranian diplomat also exchanged views on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini at Oslo Grand Hotel.

The two-day Oslo Forum was also attended by US former Secretary of State John Kerry and a number of foreign ministers from different countries.
