Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar has called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership to end its security collaboration with the Israeli occupation and give a free hand to the Palestinian resistance to defend its people.
Zahhar made his remarks during a political symposium held in Gaza on Sunday to discuss the initiative that was put forth by the Islamic Jihad Movement to heal the rift in the Palestinian arena.
The Hamas official stressed the need for renouncing the security cooperation with the occupation if the PA wanted to interact positively with the Islamic Jihad’s call for declaring a new stage of national liberation.
Zahhar ruled out that the PA leadership could accept any initiative demanding it to revoke the Oslo agreement with Israel.
“It is impossible for the current leadership of Fatah and the Palestinian Authority to accept the abolition of Oslo [agreement] or not to recognize Israel again because the late president, Arafat, when he felt that the cause was in danger and wanted to use the resistance to revive the scene, they liquidated him,” he underline
