Yemeni army snipers have killed three Saudi troops inside Saudi Arabia as part of retaliatory operations against the deadly Saudi war against Yemen.

The Saudi troops were sniped out in the Jizan region in Saudi Arabia’s extreme southwest, which borders Yemen, on Saturday, Yemen’s al-Masirah television reported.

The channel also broadcast footage showing two Saudi military vehicles going up in smoke alongside their occupants after coming under Yemeni fire at the al-Makhrouq military base in Najran, another southwestern Saudi region.

Saudi Arabia has intensified its attacks on different areas across Yemen.

The war was launched in March 2015 to reinstate Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who has resigned as Yemen’s president but seeks to forcefully return to power.

Also on Saturday, Saudi warplanes struck the Amran and Sa’ada provinces in northwestern Yemen, killing six civilians and injuring five others. Hitting the Ta’izz Province in Yemen’s southwest, Saudi aircraft also wounded three more Yemeni civilians.

On Tuesday, the United Nations’s children fund, UNICEF, said the Saudi invasion had killed 1,121 children and wounded 1,650 others.

Earlier in the week, independent legal organizations said the Saudi war had claimed the lives of 9,722 people, including 2,260 children and 1,677 women.
