Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani describes “fake” the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the ISIL Takfiri group in Iraq and Syria.

“The current coalition against the ISIL is fabricated and ineffective,” Larijani said in a meeting with Muhammad Nasr, a political bureau member of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, and a Palestinian delegation accompanying him on Tuesday.

“The western powers are in pursuit of other illegitimate goals in the region under the guise of fighting the ISIL group,” he added.

The US-led coalition began targeting positions held by the Takfiri ISIL terrorists in Iraq in August. The coalition has also been conducting airstrikes against ISIL positions inside Syria, without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate.

Larijani further noted that acts committed by extremist and terrorist groups in the region, engineered by hegemonic powers and conducted with the support of some regional countries, are a pretext for intervention in the region and harming Muslims.

The Iranian parliament speaker also promised that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its support for the Palestinian resistance movements, saying that the Palestinian nation will emerge triumphant from the fight against Israel despite attempts by supporters of the regime in the region and all over the world.

The Palestinian official, for his part, appreciated the support Iran has provided for the Palestinian nation in the fight against the Tel Aviv regime.

Iran has always helped the Palestinian people and has had an instrumental role in the fight against Israel, Nasr said, adding that Palestinians couldn’t win the fight against Tel Aviv without Iran’s assistance.

The Hamas official also confirmed that the terrorist groups such as ISIL have been created by Western intelligence services and Israel, adding, the current situation in the region which is a result of terrorist acts by the ISIL terrorist group is “to the benefit of the Zionist regime [of Israel]” and for providing “security” for Tel Aviv.
