More than 50 civilians have been killed in the US-led air strikes in Syria in the past three months, a monitoring group says.

As many as 52 Syrian civilians have been killed in the air raids conducted by the US-led coalition since September 23, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday.

It also noted that more than 1,000 militants have been also killed in coalition’s air strikes.

“At least 1,171 have been killed in the Arab and international air strikes (since September 23),” including 1,119 militants of the ISIL and al-Nusra Front, the group added.

The UK-based group further specified that as many as 1,046 dead terrorists were ISIL operatives and 72 were serving with the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra front.

The British group also stated that 50 civilians lost their lives in the air raids conducted by the US-led coalition.

The US and its allies launched an air campaign in Syria in September under the pretext of targeting ISIL militants. However, they have also hit Syrian infrastructure, including oil and gas installations, and attacked the provinces where ISIL militants are not operating.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The ISIL terrorists, who control parts of Syria and Iraq, are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.

More than 200,000 people have been killed so far in the conflict in Syria, according to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein.
